It's a tiny expensive niche. Also makes the monochrome brightness poorer for same light. The colours are poor compared to 4096 on any other technology.
Any video or photograph of coloured eink tends to be unrealistic. This is the most honest I've seen and corresponds with by expectations from basic physics

Decent colour by a filter on mono eink is impossible. You need a different technology. Once we thought mirasol was the answer. Transreflective LCD is only a solution for LCD in bright sunlight. Not low power passive screen indoor reading.
The Sony electronic paper products are strange tiny barely alive niche for PDFs in offices. I suspect someone doesn't care how many they sell of the color version.
