You have to modify the template only if you want to change the way the books are stored in the device (folder, file name..) but it has no effect in your library. In this screen you only have to set "Metadata Management" to "Automatic Management".

Okay, "set series information" was checked off there, so perhaps the problem was that I didn't have "automatic management" set up before. I'll try reloading the books and see if that helps.

Edit: Okay, that seemed to do the trick. Thank you everybody that helped me out! =D
