Stinger's suggestion: Do a google search on 'removing Adobe ADEPT DRM'. It's really not all that hard, I'm sure your son could figure it out.

Or better yet jump the DRM-FREE bandwagon like many of us:

I personally look for any ebooks I can't find without DRM on the 'darknets', and then purchase a first hand paperback to support the author.
