Agreed with the exception that difference is that Amazon simple wants to sell content.

Apple wants to control it's users and sell them content from it's own stores to it's own devices exclusively.

There is no iBook app for Android and there never will be unless Apple completely changes its business model.

If this Amazon phone is real it will be linked in with the Amazon ecosystem as another means of selling content. And like the other devices will be sold at minimal cost.
