I, too, export from Calibre. I have tried the default options, in a single directory, and with "saving covers" option on and off. The result is the same. I am using the free version for now. Apparently there should be no functional difference between paid and free, but at this point there isn't much incentive for me to buy.

Are your Calibre save settings different from the default?
