Combining font styles into single ttf file

Hey, a couple of questions for those with more knowledge than me..

My question is, is it possible to combine all of the font styles (normal, italic, bold, bold italic) into a single ttf file?

If it is possible, would the PRS-505 accept it (after renaming the font of course)?

If it did accept it, would the reader USE the full font in it's entirety like it does with embedded fonts, or would it still use its crap italics approximation etc?
