I absolutely love my Glo (non HD), the text is very crisp to me: I always use it with the front-light low (1-5%) and Malabar as the main font and I'm pretty satisfied.
Of course if you are used to a H2O it may still be a noticeable downgrade: definition-wise the difference is evident, I compared the two screens in the stores when the H2O was launched and I was debating if upgrading my reader.
In the end however I decided to wait, as my Glo was still in mint condition and I wasn't disappointed with it. Still I'm not sure if I would go the other way around if I had an H2O, unless I had no other options and I wanted a reader really quick. If I was you I'd look for a good offer on a Glo HD or even on the 2nd Edition Aura (the 1st one has a worse screen than the basic Glo IMHO) first.
