No, this is not possible any more. From firmware release 2.9.1 or lower can not be upgraded any more without reprogramming the iLiad. Reprogramming can only be done at Irex. If you want your iLiad to be reprogrammed just open a support ticket and request a quote."

What happens if you try to update via LAN or WiFi?
Obviosly you either have to go through iRex or maybe have to find someone who's archived the respective file.
What version do you have?
Did you buy a new iLiad? Then I'd be surprised you didn't get the "final" firmware, which is at least 15 months old.
