This means that the app is "broken". The fact that CC attempts to launch the app says that it is advertising that it can open files, but it then fails to open them.

Given that you are running android 8.1, this might be related to Google's change that requires apps to make a copy of a file that is to be passed to another app. CC hasn't yet been updated to do that (will happen soon). However, Android is supposed to recognize that the supplying app is running in "compatibility mode" and allow files to be passed. This is what happens with my OnePlus 5 (Android 8.1) and the Google 8.1 device emulator.
