I am new to this board, so I hope I'm posting this in the correct place.

I am just getting started in E-Book publishing, and I understand the importance of a good cover. My question is about licensing--if you buy a cover from an artist for a book that you intend to make money from, do you need some sort of legal agreement with said artist? How do you ensure that the cover you purchased is *yours*?

I've seen some really professional-looking covers, so I'm hoping some of you have already gone through this process. I tried googling this question, but all I get are ads for companies that want to sell me book covers, and I already have an artist I'd like to use, I just want to make sure it's done properly.
