Manuscripts doesn't seem to work for me, but it may work for some other people here.
Manuscripts' preferences don't include any way to disable the blinking cursor, and if there are hidden settings, the support site shows a lot of spurious results for "blink" and "blinking," and no results for "flash" or "flashing." I have a severe sensitivity to flashing lights, and mostly use NeoOffice to avoid them.
