Sony will replace broken PRS500 with... what?

I was wondering if anyone had recent experience with Sony service center replacements. Here's the synopsis:

Gave my old PRS500 to sister-in-law to use. It promptly broke/froze, scrambled screen (after 2+ years of being used and carried everywhere--but I digress). She's out of town so I haven't tried to fix it. She took it to a Sony Style store, and the clerk said they would replace it with a refurb for $100. Gave her a card with info for replacing the unit. Sounds like a pretty good deal imo.

My question is: what model Reader will they replace it with? Does Sony still have refurbed 500's? Or might they replace it with a 505? Just wondering before I decide whether to exchange it or try to fix it. Thx!
