If you like Adrian Mole you might also enjoy the Spud series by John van de Ruit . It's similar to the Adrian Mole series, following the adventures of Spud Milton as he grows up and goes to a private school. It's set in South Africa during the dying days of apartheid.

I've read all three books and they were pretty good - definitely some laughs in there.
