I'm not saying it won't work but but its unlikely and you will have to overcome a few things first, the power and the kernal modules to support it are possible. But it comes down to the fact that the devices are designed not to do this so components are often missing it save a small amount per unit and that adds up, and why add something that as far as the designers are concerned is not in the specification.
It might be easier just to mount some storage over wifi ( in the new models) on your laptop, phone etc. than a physical connection, usb adapter fo the same reasons as above probably won't work.
I hope it does work, and you shoud try it, just saying its not just like plugging it in to your PC or Mac.
