The front LED lighting on an ereader is completely different than what you're used to seeing on tablets or phones. Maybe you should try to borrow a reader from a friend if possible? Then you could see the differences. I can't imagine ever getting another reader without the front LED lighting anymore, and making good use of it. It's like night and day over reading on a typical backlit screen.
