I donīt use nickel. I use a cron job once the hour which collects temperature and forecast data of various sensors around the house.

in between I disable wifi already and the battery lasts around one week.
now I want to go one step further to sleep the whole system and wake it up once an hour - which should extend the battery live even more.
...background is, that the nice display would look stupid with a power cable connected all the time...
