Remy de Gourmont [1858–1915]
Mr. Antiphilos, Satyr [Lettres d’un satyre] 1922
Translated From the French by John Howard
With An Introduction by Jack Lewis

Three Stories from Colors [Blue, Zinzoline and White] 1922
Translated by Louis Lozowick [1892–1973]

Mr. Antiphilos is a satyr who comes to live in Italy, then in France. As a child of nature and one of the old gods, he finds modern civilisation rather confusing.

I made this from a scan at The Internet Archive. I have silently corrected some obvious typos and have added a picture by Antonio Allegri da Correggio, because it is mentioned in the text.
I’m putting this onto the U.S. server because at least one of the translators is not yet PD in Canada.
