I also have the light wedge and haven't noticed any scratching. Like Janet, I like the little bit of extra weight the wedge gives the reader--does feel more like a hardback book.

I've had my light wedge since early January and have kept my reader in that case ever since getting it. It is fairly expensive though compared to other book lights.
