Ok, maybe it would add some but not enough to move the bar. I suspect they are included though, the digital numbers would be much easier to come by so they might as well include them.

For each copy of a book that they have and assuming it has been checked out continuously for 10 years at 3 weeks per checkout it would add 174 checkouts to the total. At 1 week per checkout, it would be 521 total checkouts per copy.

Even a large system like New York is unlikely to have 40 copies of Fahrenheit 451 and have each of those copies checked out for 10 years running and have them checked out for only a week at a time. But if they did, it would be almost enough to catch up to Charlotte's Web.

To Kill a Mockingbird would only need 25 copies continuously checked out for a week at a time for 10 years to catch up to Wild Things so it is a little closer to realistic.
