I purchased my onyx boox m92 before I knew there were different vendors selling the same device, some with Free firmware, others with closed firmware. Now I'm not sure if I need to use Mono's hint about the artatech firmware or if I can just upgrade my device without having to resort to other measures besides a regular installation.

As far as I can tell, these are the same package deals including the ereader, the black cover thingy, the charger, datacable, wacom stylus and quick start guide. Mine also says
www.onyx-international.com on the back and the box states it's made in China. So since it doesn't say onyx-boox.com on the back, can I assume mine is not an Artatech device ? And with that, can I assume I can just update Booxtor's firmware ?
