Talking Calibre Content Server

Just wanted to let everyone know how I was able to access the Calibre Content server from my Kindle. Solves the port 8080 issue that the Kindle's web browser doesn't seem to like

Fist make sure your Calibre Content server will run from the GUI with the port 8080 URL.

If you're a windows users install xampp (which includes Apache)

Follow the instructions here (using reverse proxy section)
http://manual.calibre-ebook.com/server.html

You'll just need to edit the httpd.doc file and rename the default index.php so that the server serves up a standard index.html with a link to /mobile. I also have a *.bat file that starts runs the command line documented in the using reverse proxy section.

Make sure you open port 80 on your router and setup DynDns.org if you want to hit it from outside you're home network.

Bottom line is that this seemed to be the most streamlined process for downloading books directly to your kindle from your calibre library over your WiFi/3G connection.

I'll end by stating that CALIBRE ROCKS...... all hale Kovid Goyal he is AWESOME!!!
