Your friend is already out what she paid for the T1 and it's a total loss. She can reduce her loss by selling it now for what the market will bear, but realistically, she is going to lose money on it. It's never going to be worth what she paid, nor is it going to increase in value the longer she waits. If there's a price below which she'd rather keep it or give it, that's understandable. But if she wants cash, she's probably going to have to reduce her price.
