I'm from Utrecht myself and have similar problem as well. I've contacted SONY a while ago, and they agreed to service my unit, on the condition I send it to them and pay the parts&labour charge, which is flat rate of 85 USD. On top of that add the shipping cost and whatever else they will charge for the "unexpected" repairs. But the major problem is, that SONY can send the repaired unit only to an address in US. They advised me to contact SONY Nederland and attempt to persuade them to take care of the shipping/receiving process. I've already called 4 times to SONY Nederland, and all they could offer, was to bring the reader in person, so they could have a look and decide what could be done. I intend to give another call, since every time I called, i heard another story

. So I'd suggest to try yourself, maybe the Fortuna will be more inclined to help you than me
