The financial estimates are that Amazon sold 400,000 to 500,000 Kindle 1s in 2008, and over 300,000 already in 2009. The estimates for Sony are in the 300,000 - 400,000 range. Okay, so that's only about 2 times more, not "many times', but Kindles will sell another 500,000 or so this year and Sony won't even come close to that.
