The files nickel and libnickel.so.1.0.0 changed in the updated mark6 firmware, but I checked all the patches in the attachment to post #1 and they are still okay to apply to both the mark3-5 and the updated mark6 files.

Just to be certain, these are the md5sums of the files I checked:

mark3-5:
Code:
10a74062dfc00dbeea6c015dbef7ea86 libnickel.so.1.0.0 (12,147,092 bytes)
1e7a1fda33d5181b8eee42dde8b26c94 nickel (5,660,352 bytes)
mark6 updated (from 84,648,827 byte kobo-update-4.4.9344.zip)
Code:
79ef82205d71c35fcf7819dab72049e0 libnickel.so.1.0.0 (12,147,092 bytes)
d3ceaecd896e5b19bf6d989d3f3f2668 nickel (5,660,352 bytes)
If you successfully sideloaded the mark6 firmware then it is okay to patch using the same kobo-update-4.4.9344.zip that you used to sideload the firmware.

But if you updated a mark6 device via wi-fi or via the desktop software then the situation could be a bit tricky, so to play safe it might be best to sideload the good mark6 firmware before patching, just in case.
