I too would value what you are seeking. I too am not thrilled with Shelfari. I have a Kindle keyboard 3Gen. I can organize by folders. Seeing the book cover as you say would replicate the traditional reading of titles on a shelf.

I do hope someone somewhere is developing or has developed this idea of yours. IF you find it please share here. I know I would be Thankful.
