As a netbook owner, I wouldn't try and read many books in my eeePC. But right now, a netbook or a PDA is helluva lot more convenient for reading research or scientific articles and RSS feeds. An ebook reader is, right now, a dedicated device. You'll read primarily blocks of text in it, and therefore you get the advantage of a screen which is undebatably strainless for the eyes. If reading text is something that doesn't consume much of your time, get a netbook.
