I only read mobipocket files and I've not come across that problem ever since I installed the latest firmware... And I only lock my device... Haven't turned it off ever since the upgrade...
I dislike the epub implementation (won't read in that format until I can change my margin, remove that silly page number and a status bar has been added)...
