Thumbs up Free (nook/Kindle/Kobo/DRM-free) The Last Quarrel [Australian Epic Quest Fantasy]

The Last Quarrel: The Complete Edition by Australian author Duncan Lay (ISFDB, Wikipedia), is the 1st in his Arbalester Trilogy of epic high fantasy adventures featuring the classic downtrodden would-be heroes going on a harrowing quest to uncover the roots behind some mysterious form of evil that's stalking the realm and causing disappearances that are being blamed on selkies (apparently, these are nautical disappearances), this edition an omnibus compiling the first set of adventures which were originally released as serialized novellas, free courtesy of publisher Pan Macmillan Australia's Momentum imprint.

This is the featured Free Book of the Week in the iTunes Australia store, and is currently being made free to promote the upcoming Complete Edition of the 2nd set of serialized novellas.

Currently free @ B&N UK (will probably drop in the main store eventually), Amazon (available to Canadians & in the UK), Kobo & iTunes & Google Play (all available to Canadians and DRM-free at Kobo), and directly from the publisher's webstore (DRM-free ePub/Mobi bundle available worldwide).

And this has been the (late!) selected 3rd (non-repeat) free ebook thread of the day.

Because it's always a treat to receive new sfnal freebies, and this one gets bonus points for novelty, since it's not all that often that stuff gets blamed on selkies.

Enjoy!

Description
Gaelland is a nation gripped by fear.

In the country, fishing boats return with their crews mysteriously vanished while farms are left empty, their owners gone into the night, meals still on the table. In the cities, children disappear from the streets or even out of their own beds. The King tells his people that it is the work of selkies – mythical creatures who can turn from seals into men and back again – and witches. But no matter how many women he burns at the stake, the children are still being taken.

Fallon is a man who has always dreamed of being a hero. His wife Bridgit just wants to live in peace and quiet, and to escape the tragedies that have filled her life. His greatest wish and her worst nightmare are about to collide.

When an empty ship sails into their village, Fallon follows the trail to the truth behind the evil stalking their land. But it is a journey that will take them both into a dark, dark place and nobody can tell them where it might end …
