Audio books are, as far as I know, standard sound files recorded to cassette tape or CD. So any media/music player should be able to play the CD files without a problem unless they're in some obscure file format. Very unlikely.
Cassettes would have to be converted to a digital format, but otherwise they would operate the same way.
