Now that you mentioned spaces in folders, I remember in the early posts that if you have a space in the folder name, it would not do bookmarks/last pages.
So, just remove the spaces from folder names. You could use underscores instead: Smith_Jane.
See if this works.
(i.e., I'm talking about the original Astak software, not lbook's)
