Why would it get a click from another window, even if it was sleeping? And even if it did, there is still the confirmation dialog for deletes. A long time to recover after being unused sounds like windows has swapped its memory to a disk. That will happen if your system is low on RAM, or you have told windows to aggressively use RAM for disk caching.
