I had the freezing problem and now I've solved it.
Detail of the problem: I touch a word, get the dictionary for it, touch again; then put the reader in stand-by. Open again, touch a word, the reader freezes.
My solution: I have substituted the image I used as a stand-by cover by a smaller one. No more freezing! The "good" image is 30421 bytes big; its double version did not work. Maybe a slightly bigger one would also do (I have a sort of black frame around the image) but I'm content with this.
