Kobo Touch Won't connect to Calibre after Upgrade

Subject line says it all. My week old Kobo Touch is now not recognized by Calibre after upgrading from version 8.46 to 8.47. Is there a way to go back to the earlier version without losing my data?

BTW here is the error I get:
calibre, version 0.8.47
ERROR: Error: Error communicating with device

unable to open database file

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\device.py", line 82, in run
File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\device.py", line 340, in _books
File "site-packages\calibre\devices\kobo\driver.py", line 234, in books
OperationalError: unable to open database file
Wasn't sure if this should go in the Kobo of Calibre forum: Moderator please move if I made the wrong selection.

Regards,

SonDan
