many thanks!
Didn't have time to take pictures/screenshots (will do that later) but I do have some impressions. It's actually readable on the Nexus 7 (7" 1280x800) even without zooming. Not particularly ideal but it works in a pinch.

As expected, the iPad (2012) is a better match given its aspect ratio. The PDF pretty much occupies the iPad's entire screen. The TF700T is noticeably narrower so you get a smaller render of the PDF page with fairly big black bars at the top and bottom. GoodReader also appears to be faster/more responsive compared to ezPDF and seems a lot richer in terms of features so that's a plus for iOS. Text is quite clear and legible on both the iPad and Infinity. If you have poor near vision though, letter-sized and A4 documents would be rendered bigger on the iPad than on the Infinity in portrait mode with a standard fit to width/fit to page zoom.

If storage isn't a concern and this is the type of file you deal with regularly, the 2012 iPad is what I'd go for. Otherwise, the Transformer Infinity TF700T works well enough.
