Isn't Sony also targeting the local markets? E.g. German-language books in Germany. Amazon is selling English-language books afaik.

Apparently they've been watching Amazon clobber them for about a year now.

Sony has done a few good things with its latest models (i.e. very portable, touch screen, Google Books) but is missing a few features the combined competition offers: wireless access, larger screens, TTS, lending books. We'll see if they can get their act in gear.
