Yes, I put the original SD with the original image back inside.
I'll try fiddling with the connection to the battery, there's nothing to lose I guess.

It's not really a problem if I can't fix this Pocketbook. I've always suspected I was given the broken e-reader on purpose, because I won the two Pocketbooks as a prize in school, and I guess it would have been nasty for the organisers to give the broken device to a kid who didn't also win a second, functional device.
