Hybrid Wiki-Post: The way 1st post in each thread should be!

If a forum admin is reading this, I think it'd be really helpful if there were some exceptions for the first posts in all threads, so that every MR member can edit it... (Having Kindle Developer's Corner specifically in mind) sometimes, the first person who posts something, disappears and the thread becomes huge and after a while, one has to dig in and read everything just to make sure everything is up to date... But if everyone can update first post, this problem would not arise... One such thread is this.

So this way, we will treat first posts somehow like a wiki! A hybrid of "thread post-wiki"... Is this possible in php?
