i guess the nice thing is that the software will probably be updated on a regular basis. it sounds like there's a need for a deeper file format that allows for advanced formatting and programming. the advantage of the iPad is that with its color touch screen interface, this is something that could easily be implemented with a simple software update.

i definitely hear what you're saying, i guess its a matter of the chicken or the egg. have there been any eBook readers in the past that could offer this kind of support? it sounds like what's needed is a color touch screen to have that kind of functionality, don't you think?

sooo..... now that the hardware is there... i guess its up to the publishers to start pushing something better maybe? or should apple come out with a new eBook file format?
