I think, the reason is, that it is not the eInk, that displays these images. That is how they look like before displaying them on the Triton (as I said: internal screenshots (grabbing from frame buffer)).
On the Triton display they'll look muted. I think, the graphics chip is supposed to put out such vivid graphics to compensate the muted display.
