Ce livre a été publié à Paris en 1894. Son auteur, Maurice Spronck (1861-1921) était un homme politique qui fut élu plusieurs fois député de la Seine.
Le livre évoque la décadence de l'Europe du futur et son effondrement face à une invasion musulmane.
