Try this - power down the device. Put it on a table and power it back up. We have very occasionally seen touch mapping get messed up when the device orientation changes during a certain part of the boot up. So you may be 'missing' the button in the eyes of teh device. The issue is supposed to be fixed in by the updates that download during the setup, though.
