Probably because eInk often doesn't differentiate in their marketing materials. They often just call the current screens Viziplex and only seem to have used Pearl much when they were offering both types (ie: when Pearl first came out).
EDIT: It looks like they've redone their site and now are calling it
Pearl again
, it would be nice if they'd pick one.
