Nope. Using auto for margin is a sure way to fail. According to the specifications of the ePUB standard auto can be interpreted as 0 and most readers will do so. That is not the result you are aiming for. Text-align: center works fine, but sometimes you must enclose it in an additional <div> for iBooks.
