Jacques Futrelle published around 50 of his SFX Van Dusen detective short stories, many of which were never collected into books. One volume - The Thinking Machine - appeared in 1907.
Futrelle was returning to the USA from Europe with his wife May on the Titanic when it struck an iceberg and sank. May survived, but Jacques did not.
This third volume of stories is a new collection. It includes the novella "The Chase of the Golden Plate".
