The Action Bible: God's Redemptive Story by Sergio Cariello is $1.99 for a PDF at Christianbook. It's $2.99 for the epub at B&N and appears to be full price everywhere else.

It's in the style of a comic book or graphic novel, so I think the PDF works well. My concern is that the publisher lists the age range as 9-12, which I think is a little optimistic. If you're a parent and getting it for a child, I'd recommend reading it first, yourself. In fact, if you're tempted to get a paper version for a child, spend the two bucks on the PDF and read it first. It doesn't really pull any punches and I wouldn't be comfortable giving it to a nine-year-old.

EDIT: I don't want to give the impression that I think the Action Bible is poorly done. I own it both in paper and electronically and have enjoyed reading it multiple times. I just personally don't think it's appropriate for children as young as nine.
