Automatically adding additional formats for a book?

If I drag a book which already exists in my Calibre library from Windows Explorer onto Calibre, at present it will create a duplicate library entry for it. I know that I can add a new format by selecting "Edit Metadata" for an existing format, and adding the new format from there, but it would be nice to be able to add new formats with "drag and drop". Eg, if I already have a book in my library in Mobi format, I'd like to be able to drag an LRF version of the same book onto Calibre, and have it added as an additional format for the same catalog entry, rather than as a new entry.

Is there a way to do this, which I've overlooked? If there isn't a way, may I make an enhacement request for the facility to be added, please?
