Sorry about joining in on your ad Jimmy. I think this might be of some help!
As I had previously posted, I had a new PRS-500 screen for sale here along with the possibility of 10 others. I had broken my screen moving a stupid television and had contacted Jimmy at the same time as I had contacted Sony Canada. Sony gave me 2
numbers for their 'Authorized Parts Distributors'. One company quoted me 523.00
for the screen alone! The other company had no idea whether it was available or not.
A sales person was kind enough to send me an exploded view of the reader and asked me to pick the part that I required. Long story short, I chose the screen and she gave me a price I couldn't refuse. I thought maybe at that price it was only the metal bracket but that couldn't be it as it was bonded right to the screen. I took a chance
and ordered it up. I received it 2 weeks later as it was on back order. It was definitely the screen! As it turns out, my main board on the PRS-500 had a short so I passed on the deal to a member here. I'm happy to report that his 500 is working perfectly now
Anyways, to sum it up, I received a telephone call last week from their 'Authorized Parts Distributor' who left me a message stating that it was very important that I returned
their call. I did call them back and was told that a mistake had been made in their pricing
and that I now owed them the difference from the 523.00CAN that the price should have been! They were so upset that I had gotten such a low price that they almost resorted to threats.

I realize the PRS-500 is an older model and the price of the screen should not be the astronomical price that Sony charges. The readers are well worth repairing as they are still fantastic. I can only imagine what they are charging for a 505 screen! Jump on this
opportunity from Jimmyzou if you are thinking about repairing your reader!
FYI, I have no affiliation with any company or person in regard to these screens. I just feel strong about supporting such a fair deal.

All the best and good luck with your screens Jimmy
Ron
