On to kings of commerce:
Harold Hamm
A pioneer in drilling the Bakken shale of North Dakota, Harold Hamm now thinks the play is the biggest in the United States, with the potential to yield 24 billion barrels of oil in the decades to come, and be producing more than 1 million barrels per day within 5 years. No company has more acreage there than Oklahoma City-based, publicly traded Continental Resources, of which Hamm owns more than 70%.
