"Go To Location" Question

In the Kindle user guide it says:
Quote:
Go to Location… — displays a text entry box that allows you to jump to a specific
location in the content. As a shortcut, you can jump directly to a location by typing the
location number on the keyboard while you are reading.
Has anyone been able to change location without using the menu, just typing the location directly? I haven't been able to, but the quote above seems to indicate that it should work.

What am I missing?
